JEWEL SUM is a fashion designer from Sabah, Malaysia. She specializes in womenswear and is passionate about self-expression through fashion. She believes fashion can be used as a medium for empowerment and communication of important societal voices. She aims to design garments that deliver comfort and confidence to the wearers.

Jewel began her fashion studies at LASALLE College of The Arts in Singapore. She subsequently furthered her studies in the UK and completed her degree in BA (Hons) Fashion Design and Technology Womenswear at the Manchester Fashion Institute. Her graduate collection “Freedom” had been selected to showcase at The Graduate Fashion Week, the largest BA fashion showcase in the world and with Fashion Scout as part of London Fashion Week 2021. Her collection was also featured in British footwear retailer, Jones Bootmaker’s editorial shoot. In addition, she launched a collaboration project with Shein “SHEIN X JEWEL SUM” in December 2021. Jewel was also one of Top 10 finalists of the KL 10 Designer Search organized by Kuala Lumpur Fashion Week 2022.

Jewel started her own studio at Kota Damansara in 2023.
